TARGET NG DEPED AI LITERACY, TRAINING PARA SA 1.5M PINOY
MAY 1.5 million learners, teachers, at parents ang makikinabang mula sa bagong lunsad na artificial intelligence (AI) program ng Department of Education (DepEd) ngayong taon, na naglalayong turuan at sanayin ang mga Pilipino sa umuusbong na teknolohiya.
“Right now, only 1.5 million are affected,” pahayag ni Education Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” M. Angara.
“Once we finish our curriculum, hopefully by the second quarter…it will be released nationwide because it’s a national curriculum everyone will benefit from it,” dagdag pa niya.
Ang Project Accelerating Governance and Adaptive Pedagogy through Artificial Intelligence (Project AGAP.AI) ay isang malakihang capacity-building program para sa AI initiatives sa basic education, na pinondohan ng ASEAN Foundation and powered by Google.org.
Sa ilalim ng programa, isang nationwide AI training, na tinatawag na AI Ready ASEAN Philippines, ang inaasahang magpapakilala sa AI sa simpleng salita sa pamamagitan ng pagtuturo ng fundamentals, practical classroom usage, ethics, data privacy, at pagtugon sa mga panganib tulad ng maling impormasyon.
Ang reporma na isama ang AI concept sa curriculum at teacher training ay suportado rin ng Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) Responsible AI for Social Empowerment & Education (RAISE) initiative at ng Day of AI Initiative.
Upang suportahan ang pagpapatupad sa klasrum, ang AI-focused training modules para sa mga guro ay ilulunsad sa second quarter ng 2026.
“For teachers, [we are going to train them] how they can maximize, how can we make them more efficient and how to teach it,” sabi ni Angara.
“For students, how to research, and then, it’s gamified, as you can see, that’s why it’s attractive to students. It’s like they’re just playing,” dagdag pa niya.
