TAGUIG LAUNCHES ‘TELE-ARAL’
THE CITY government of Taguig has launched its ‘Tele-Aral’ program which seeks to help students with their studies under distance learning.
The program allows students to call teachers if they have questions regarding their modules.
The center, whose headquarters is at the Senator Renato ‘Compañero’ Cayetano Memorial Science and Technology High School, has 15 phone lines, 20 support staff, and 50 iMac desktop computers.
Mayor Lino Cayetano said that the establishment of the center was part of the city’s preparations for the ‘new normal’.
“Through easy access to a broad body of knowledge, teachers, teaching personnel, and technology, Taguig City launches the Taguig Tele-Aral Program to highlight both quality education and importance of safety for teachers and students amidst the pandemic,” he said.
“Kailangan ho tanggapin nating magiging kakaiba ang taon na ito. Hindi madali ito sa ating magagaling na teachers, sa mga opisyales ng Department of Education, sa mga magulang, sa mga estudyante,” he said.
Cayetano added that all students in Taguig will receive learning modules on a weekly basis.
“Kahit ho walang internet, walang [computer], hawak ho nila ‘yan. Kung mayroon naman silang internet o computer, puwede ho nila i-download ‘yan pero ang importante no child is left behind,” he said.
The city government is also conducting a series of orientations with the parents of the students.
A manual was also released to ensure that proper guidance would be given to children studying at home.
