SUCs SHOULD HAVE A MASTERPLAN FOR ALLOCATION OF FUNDS — LAWMAKER
SENATOR Alan Peter Cayetano emphasized the importance of having a masterplan for State Universities and Colleges for the allocation of funds.
Cayetano made the statement after presiding over the Committee on Higher, Technical and Vocational hearing to discuss several bills for the conversion and establishment of state universities and colleges in different parts of the Philippines.
Cayetano also urged the Commission on Higher Education to ensure the compliance of necessary requirements for the conversion and establishment of new schools.
The senator also cited the proposal of Sen. Pia Cayetano to prioritize the schools that have courses that are needed by the country for the next 20 years.
Dr. Raul F. Muyong, director IV CHED-Office of Institutional Quality Assurance and Governance, said the CHED has the data and promised to evaluate them.
Cayetano siblings earlier expressed dismay over the cuts made by the bicameral conference committee meeting on the budget of SUCs for 2025.
