STUDENTS from far-flung villages in Tuburan town in Cebu received cash assistance for their educational needs.

The cash aid for the 149 students came from the collaboration project of Ang Probinsyano Party-list, Department of Social Welfare and Development and the local government of Tuburan.

Elementary students received P1,000, junior high school students got P1,500 while senior high school students were given P3,000 each.

A total of 260 residents of Tuburan qualified for the cash assistance.

The first round of recipients have received their cash aid while the second batch, composed of 111 students, will be distributed at a later date.

“Dito sa Tuburan, na-inspire po tayo sa leadership ni Mayor Diamante kaya naman po binabalik-balikan po natin ito dahil naramdaman po natin ang pagmamahal ng Tuburan,” APPL Rep. Alfred Delos Santos said.

“Nalaman po natin na napakaimportante po pala sa kanila ang evacuation center kaya eto po ang agad-agarang inihatid natin sa kanila.  At besides doon, nagbigay kami ng educational assistance na alam naming kailangan dito sa Tuburan,” he added.
