SOME students have expressed their gratitude to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for launching a government program that grants them a 50 percent discount on Beep cards for the Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3).

“Ang masasabi ko sa Beep card, malaking tulong po talaga lalo na sa mga commuter students katulad namin. Araw-araw talaga kailangan bumiyahe mula bahay papuntang school at pabalik. Malaking tulong talaga ‘yan para sa amin, lalo na yung 50 percent discount,” said Roberto Go, a Grade 12 student at De La Salle University.

Ian Pasinos, an engineering student at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, also said the program would benefit students.

“Una po, mas mababa po ‘yung pamasahe. Pangalawa, mas makakamura kasi automatic ‘yung 50 percent discount at hindi na kailangan pumila,” Pasinos said.

Meanwhile, Dina Santos, a student at Letran College, said the discount card would help her save money from her allowance.

“Malaki po ang tulong kasi araw-araw po akong nag-LRT. Salamat po, President Marcos. Malaking tulong po ito sa akin at malaking masi-save ko rin po na pera dahil sa discount,” Santos said.
