SOLONS BAT FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF CAGRARAY ISLAND TESDA TRAINING, ACCREDITATION CENTER
AKO Bicol Partylist Representatives Elizaldy Co and Raul Angelo Bongalon filed a measure seeking to establish the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Training and Accreditation Center in Cagraray Island in the Municipality of Bacacay, Albay.
In their joint House Bill 8796, the solons pushed for the training center to be known as the Cagraray Island TESDA Training and Assessment Center.
“The convenience and availability of the training center in the Cagraray Island, Bacacay, Albay, will provide the out-of-school youths and our constituents with the opportunity to develop themselves to be self-reliant and learn new techniques geared towards earning a livelihood,” the lawmaker said in their explanatory note.
“Likewise, it provides the necessary atmosphere where inborn talents are developed into self-reliant individuals,” they added.
Based on the measure, the center shall provide effective employment interventions through training programs on relevant skills in trade competencies, craftmanships and entrepreneurship activities to help hasten the development of the host area and its adjacent localities into human resource and productivity hubs.
The solons stressed that through the Center, high school students, college graduates and ordinary citizens who want to continue their education, will avail of accessible, high quality and efficient technical education and skills development programs.
