LAS PIÑAS City Rep. Camille Villar has turned over the first Kabataan Center with e-library to leaders of the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Pulang Lupa Uno, in the city.

The Center is equipped with computers, printers, a photocopy machine for research and printing, and a free Wi-Fi connection that allows its access to digital resources for learning.

It is likewise provided with books and has a meeting space where children can gather and study together.

The construction of the 63 sqm Pulang Lupa Uno Kabataan Center started on May 13, 2024 and finished on May 31 and was inaugurated on July 6.

“Mahalaga ang edukasyon para sa ating mga kabataan. Sa pamamagitan ng mga Kabataan Centers na ating ipinatatayo, layunin natin na matulungan ang mga kabataan sa kanilang pag-aaral,” Villar said.

Villar had earlier filed House Bill No. 9572, or the proposed E-books for the Barangay Program Act.

It provides for the creation of a digital library platform that will provide a secure and organized database of digital learning resources.
