SOLON REITERATES CALL TO REVERT SCHOOL CALENDAR TO JUNE OPENING
ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. France Castro reiterated Friday her call to revert the school calendar to June opening.
ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. France Castro reiterated Friday her call to revert the school calendar to June opening.
Castro said reverting the school year to June opening should not take four to five years.
She pointed out that it should take as soon as reasonable, around two years, like the party-list’s proposal in House Bill 8550.
“Nararamdaman n’yo na ba ang init? May mga report na sosobra pa ang init dahil sa El Nino, kaya ang panawagan natin ay i-revert na ang pasukan ng June,” Castro stressed.
The House Deputy Minority Leader earlier participated in the Department of Education consultation regarding the amendments to the school calendar.
She also voiced out the urgent calls of our teachers like additional classrooms and facilities for schools, enough to accommodate all student enrollees and without overcrowding the classrooms; the need for more teachers; additional benefits for teachers; less workload or administrative work for teachers; and others.
