SOLON: INTEGRITY, COMPASSION SHOULD GUIDE NEW LAWYERS

/ 8 January 2026

HOUSE Minority Leader and 4Ps Party-list Rep. Marcelino “Nonoy” Libanan on Wednesday urged the country’s newly minted lawyers to let integrity and compassion guide them as they enter the legal profession.

Libanan joined other leaders in congratulating the successful examinees of the 2025 Bar Examinations, lauding their hard work and reminding them of the greater responsibility that comes with earning the title of attorney.

“Warm congratulations to the new lawyers who passed the 2025 Bar Examinations!” Libanan, himself a lawyer, said in a Facebook post.

He emphasized that becoming a lawyer goes beyond personal achievement.

“Beyond being a personal honor, becoming a lawyer is a vow of service to justice, to truth, and to the Filipino people,” the minority leader said.

Libanan called on the new members of the Bar to uphold the highest ethical standards in their practice of law.

“May integrity and compassion guide you in every step of your profession, and may you use your knowledge not only for yourself, but for the betterment of our society,” he added.

He also welcomed the passers into what he described as a noble calling.

“Welcome to the ranks of defenders of law and justice. Long live the new lawyers of the nation,” Libanan said.

The 2025 Bar Examinations were conducted over three days on Sept. 7, 10, and 14, with the results officially released by the Supreme Court.

A total of 11,425 aspiring lawyers took what is widely considered the country’s most grueling professional examination. Of this number, 6,667 examinees were women, while 4,758 were men.
