MT. PROVINCE Representative Maximo Dalog Jr. wants to establish a satellite office of the Commission on Higher Education to make the agency’s services more accessible to Higher Education institutions in his area.

In filing House Bill 442, Dalog said that the capital town of Bontoc, Mt. Province, where the higher education institutions are mostly located, is about 140 kilometers or more than five hours away from the CHED Regional Office in La Trinidad, Benguet.

Putting up a CHED satellite office in the province will facilitate the coordination of the Mt. Province State Polytechnic College, Xijen Institute of Technology, and 11 Technical and Vocational Institutions, he said.

Under the bill, the satellite office to be known as the CHED-Mountain Province Satellite Office shall be located in Bontoc, Mt. Province.

The measure mandates the chairperson of the CHED to immediately include in their program the operationalization for the satellite office.
