SENATOR Imee Marcos filed a measure that seeks to convert the Tawi-tawi Regional Agricultural College into a state college.

In Senate Bill 2196, Marcos pushed for the conversion of the agricultural college into Tawi-Tawi State College of Agriculture.

The senator said that the school could become the center of excellence for agriculture and related fields in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

TRAC, the senator said, has consistently provided educational opportunities to students in the province of Tawi-Tawi.

However, she stressed the need to revise its 40-year-old charter to prepare its students towards achieving higher excellence.

Marcos said that converting TRAC into a state college will provide the youth greater access and opportunities to programs which aim to contribute to the social and economic development of the region.
