SENATOR HIGHLIGHTS ROLE OF TECH-VOC EDUCATION IN EXPANDING JOB OPPORTUNITIES
SENATOR Bong Go underscored the importance of technical-vocational education in improving employment opportunities for Filipinos as he supported the graduation of scholars in South Cotabato.
Through his team, Go delivered a message during the graduation ceremony of scholars from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority at the Vandelon K-888 Technical Vocational Institute and Assessment Center in Norala.
The senator emphasized that skills training plays a vital role in equipping Filipinos with practical competencies that can help them secure employment and improve their quality of life.
“Sa pamamagitan ng TESDA at iba pang training institutions, marami na po tayong natulungang magkaroon ng hanapbuhay at pagkakataong maiangat ang kanilang buhay,” Go said in his message.
A total of 50 scholars completed their respective courses, including 25 graduates of Carpentry National Certificate II and 25 graduates of Driving NC II.
The graduates also received shirts, vitamins, balls, pens, and congratulatory cards from Go’s Malasakit Team as part of the senator’s support for the scholars.
Go encouraged the graduates to remain determined as they pursue their aspirations and work toward building better futures for themselves and their families.
“Huwag kayong titigil sa inyong pangarap dahil ito ay simula pa lang ng mas magandang bukas para sa inyo,” he told the graduates.
The senator also cited several measures he supports in the Senate aimed at expanding access to education.
He is among the authors and co-sponsors of the Alternative Learning System Act, which seeks to broaden educational opportunities for out-of-school youth and disadvantaged learners.
Go is likewise an author and co-sponsor of the Student Loan Payment Moratorium During Disasters and Emergencies Act, which provides temporary relief to students with outstanding educational loans during calamities and emergencies.
In addition, he co-sponsored Senate Bill No. 514, which seeks to amend the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act to further refine the Tertiary Education Subsidy and ensure that assistance reaches students who need it most.
Toward the end of his message, Go reaffirmed his commitment to continue serving the public.
“Ako ang inyong Senator Kuya Bong Go, patuloy na magseserbisyo sa inyong lahat dahil bisyo ko na ang magserbisyo at ako po ay naniniwala na ang serbisyo sa tao ay serbisyo po ‘yan sa Diyos,” he said.
