SENATOR Imee Marcos has filed a measure that will establish the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Training and Assessment Center in Cagayan de Oro City.
Marcos said Senate Bill 1918 or the proposed Cagayan de Oro City TESDA Training and Assessment Center Act will enhance the quality of manpower in Cagayan de Oro City and its neighboring provinces.
The training and assessment center in Cagayan de Oro will help not only Grades 11 and 12 students, out-of-school youth but also the citizens who seek to equip themselves with skills and technical expertise.
Under the measure, the TESDA center will be established in Barangay Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City.
The Center shall offer training programs on relevant skills trade competencies, craftmanship, and entrepreneurship activities needed to deliver the effective employment interventions that will hasten the development of the host area and its adjacent localities into human resource and productivity hubs.
The senator said TESDA was primarily created to provide relevant, accessible, high quality and efficient technical education and skills development in support of the development of high quality Filipino middle-level manpower responsive to and in accordance with Philippine development goals and priorities.
