IPINANUKALA ni Quezon City Rep. Precious Hipolito Castelo ang pagtatayo ng Science and Technology Center sa lungsod.

Sa House Bill 2307, sinabi ni Castelo na dapat magkaroon ng venue sa lungsod kung saan mapag-aaralan ang lahat ng scientific at technological advances.

Ipinaliwanag ng kongresista na alinsunod sa Konstitusyon, prayoridad ng estado ang pagsusulong ng research and development at science and technology education.

“Every Filipino equipped with the basic knowledge in advanced technologies or of modern sciences becomes at par with the rest of the world. It is so because science and technology have become prime movers in developing economies across the globe,” sabi ni Castelo sa kanyang explanatory note.

Batay sa panukala, sa pamamagitan ng pagtatayo ng Science and Technology Center sa lungsod, mabibigyang oportunidad ang mga residente na magkaroon ng kaalaman, training at expertise sa science and technology.

Alinsunod din sa panukala, mandato ng Department of Information and Communications Technology ang pagbuo ng mga regulasyon para sa pamamahala sa Center.

Ang kinakailangang pondo para sa itatayo at pagmamantina ng center ay magmumula sa General Appropriations Act sa ilalim ng Department of Science and Technology.
