SAUDI ARABIA UNVEILS 265 FULLY-FUNDED SCHOLARSHIPS FOR FILIPINO STUDENTS
SAUDI Arabia has launched an initiative to provide 265 fully-funded scholarships for Filipino undergraduate and graduate students for the 2025-2026 academic year, strengthening educational ties between the two nations.
The scholarships, announced by the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Manila, support the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which emphasizes global education as a cornerstone of progress. “These opportunities reflect our commitment to fostering higher education for Filipino students and building cultural and intellectual bridges between our countries,” said Faisal Ebraheem Alghamdi, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador-designate to the Philippines, in a statement on Wednesday (28 May 2025).
Covering tuition, accommodation, medical insurance, financial stipends, and annual round-trip flights, the scholarships allow Filipinos to pursue any major except medicine at Saudi Arabian universities. Interested applicants can apply through the Ministry of Education’s “Study in Saudi” portal at www.studyinsaudi.moe.gov.sa.
Currently, 806 Filipino students are enrolled in Saudi universities, highlighting the growing academic collaboration between Manila and Riyadh. This initiative promises to deepen these ties, empowering Filipino youth through world-class education.
