VICE PRESIDENT and Education Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio asked security officials to enhance the country’s security and the Reserve Officers Training Corps Program.

In a meeting with the officials of the security sector at the Department of Education Central Office on Tuesday, Duterte said that her objective is to strengthen coordination and enhance interagency cooperation on issues of national security and development.

“The Philippines will only be able to truly recover and rebuild post-pandemic and meaningfully stand with honor and pride as a nation if we successfully address threats to our security,” Duterte said.

The vice president also discussed the planned mandatory Reserve Officers’ Training Corps in basic and higher education.

The investigation of teachers who allegedly sexually harassed their students was also tackled.

Duterte-Carpio held the meeting after she was designated by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as officer- in-charge while the Chief Executive was in Indonesia and Singapore.
