PABOR si Senate Committee on Basic Education, Culture and Arts Chairman Win Gatchalian na pairalin ang roving tutors method sa mga lugar na mababa o walang kaso ng Covid19.

Layon nito na matiyak na maaabot pa rin ng edukasyon ang mga estudyante na hindi abot ng internet connection at kapos ang self learning modules.

“I’m in favor as long as the area is low-risk. For example may mga areas tallaga na low-risk like Batanes, Aurora, Siquijor na mababa lang ang cases,” pahayag ni Gatchalian.

Maaari rin aniyang  gawin ang community tutors kung saan iipunin ang mga bata sa isang lugar na pupuntahan ng guro pero titiyakin ang physical distancing.

“That’s already been done in the US, marami nang countries na gumagawa niyan in lieu of face-to-face. So I’m in favor of that. It’s a good alternative. Hindi naman ito buong araw, I would expect mga one hour or two hours,” sinabi pa ni Gatchalian.

Kaugnay nito, hinimok ni House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano ang Department of Education na makipag-partner sa Department of Labor and Employment sa pagkuha sa mga displaced private school teacher bilang online tutors.

Sinabi ng kongresista na maaaring bumalangkas ang dalawang ahensiya ng tutoring program sa ilalim ng Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers program.

“We can hire private school teachers who lost their jobs due to the community quarantine. They can tutor our students especially since we cannot hold face-to-face classes and most of our students are studying from home,” pahayag ni Cayetano.
