FILIPINOS interested to pursue higher education abroad are encouraged to take advantage of the Romanian government’s scholarship program for foreign citizens.

The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs earlier launched the call for applications for its annual scholarship program for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral study in all fields, with the exception of medicine, dental medicine and pharmacy.

A preparatory year will be allotted for the study of Romanian language prior to actual university studies.

Aspiring scholars may submit their application online through the Study in Romania platform (https://scholarships.studyinromania.gov.ro/scholarship-auth) until March 31, 2026.

The Romanian Embassy in Manila said included in the scholarship allocation are expenses for the Romanian language preparatory year, tuition fee and accommodation in student dormitories.

The results of the selection process will be announced by e-mail, around July 15, 2026 to every candidate who applied for a scholarship. (PNA)
