QUEZON AND TAGUIG CITIES RECOGNIZED FOR CHILD-FRIENDLY POLICIES
FOR giving importance to children’s rights, the cities of Quezon and Taguig were awarded the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance by the government.
The two cities received the 2019 Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance from the Department of the Interior and Local Government and the Department of Social Welfare and Development during the awarding ceremony held last November 19.
They both passed the local governance audit by the DILG and DSWD.
The two agencies said that the cities ensured that children are given importance and priority in planning, budgeting, enacting ordinances and implementing programs to ensure their health, safety and welfare.
The awarding and the commemoration of the regional children’s month in 2022 were organized by the Regional Committee for the Welfare of Children.
The RCWC serves as a liaison between national agencies and LGUs.
