QC GOV’T GIVES ADDITIONAL LAPTOPS TO TEACHERS
TO HELP address teaching needs, the Quezon City government distributed additional laptops to public school teachers and child development workers.
Mayor Joy Belmonte said they started the distribution of 1,000 laptops to public elementary and high school teachers and 50 laptops for child development workers in public daycare centers.
“Sa Quezon City, pinahahalagahan natin ang edukasyon kaya patuloy ang ating pagsuporta sa mga paaralan mula sa mga mag-aaral hanggang sa mga guro. Nakikipag-ugnayan din tayo sa SDO at SSDD para masiguro natin na sapat ang suporta na ibinibigay natin sa kanila,” Belmonte said.
The 1,050 laptops are on top of the 5,593 devices that the city previously distributed.
The city government also said that public school teachers will continue to receive free internet and monthly and quarterly allowances.
It also gave service vehicles to schools which they can utilize for their activities and programs.
Belmonte said that she plans to strengthen the capability of day-care centers by providing 96,440 storybooks to pupils, school supplies, hygiene kits, medical supplies and food packs.
“Handang Magbasa (Ready to Read)” manuals were also given to students’ parents and CDWs.
Handang Magbasa is a program for parents and CDWs to work together and promote the reading skills of three- to four-year-old children attending Child Development Centers.
