PVAO AND AFPEBSO PARTNER TO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIP TO MILITARY DEPENDENTS

THE PHILIPPINE Veterans Affairs Office and the Armed Forces of the Philippines Educational Benefit System Office partnered to continue providing scholarship to dependents of AFP personnel.

On June 27, the two organizations signed a Memorandum of Agreement to transfer P10,000,000 from PVAO to AFPEBSO for the implementation of the PVAO-AFPEBSO Educational Benefit program.

Since 2012, the program has granted scholarship for dependents of military personnel who were either killed in action or permanently incapacitated during combat.

Currently, PVAO has 142 grantees nationwide.

PVAO Administrator Reynaldo Mapagu, PVAO Deputy Administrator Assistant Secretary Restituto Aguilar, AFP Deputy Chief of Staff and AFPEBS-Morale, Welfare and Recreational Facilities and Other Business-like Instrumentalities Chairperson LtGen Charlton Sean Gaerlan PN and AFPEBSO Chief, Capt. Ariel Palisoc led the signing of the agreement.

Gaerlan thanked PVAO for its sustained support and assistance to AFPEBSO.

“PVAO has consistently been generous in their financial support for the dependents of selfless soldiers who laid their lives for our beloved country. With this, the AFP is deeply grateful for PVAO’s unwavering commitment,” he said.
