PTA SUGGESTS USE OF PNEUMONIA VACCINE FOR CHILDREN WITHOUT COVID19 JABS
THE PARENT Teacher Association suggested that children who have not been vaccinated against Covid19 can be given anti-pneumonia jabs before they are allowed to attend face-to-face classes.
PTA National President Willy Rodriguez said that his group is firm on the “no vaccine, no face-to-face classes” policy.
Rodriguez said that they proposed to the Department of Education to vaccinate children against pneumonia if they cannot get an anti-Covid jab.
“Ang talagang stand ng national PTA ‘no vaccine, no face-to-face classes’… ‘Yung mga bata lumalabas nang walang face mask, so ngayon ang suggestion po namin kay Usec. Revsee Escobedo ng DepEd ay kung puwede ay gamitin ang pneumonia vaccine sa mga wala pang available na vaccine para sa bata,” he said.
He added that children who do not want to receive Covid19 may also get pneumonia vaccine as an alternative.
“[‘Yung pneumonia vaccine] mas magaling po iyon kasi matagal na ‘yong ginagamit,” he added.
Limited in-person classes for Kindergarten to Grade 12 students were allowed in schools that passed the assessment of the DepEd and the Department of Health.
