PROGRAMA VS CHILDHOOD OBESITY PINABUBUO
“Obesity in children and adolescents is generally caused by a lack of physical activity, unhealthy eating patterns, or a combination of the two, with genetics and lifestyle both playing importnat roles in determining child’s weight,” pahayag ni Villafuerte sa kanyang explanatory note.
Batay sa panukala, bubuo ng Congressional Council on Childhood Obesity na hihikayat sa bawat elementary at high school, pribado man o pampubliko, na bumalangkas ng mga programa laban sa obesity.
Bukod dito, bubuo rin ng National Foundation for the Prevention and Reduction of Childhood Obesity na isang ahensiyang susuporta sa lahat ng aktibidad laban sa obesity, partikular ang school-based activities.
“Our own Congress needs to challenge students, teachers, school administrators, and local communities to voluntarily participate in the development and implementation of activities to successfully reduce and prevent childhood obesity,” dagdag ni Villafuerte.
