PRLEC LAUDED FOR HELPING REMOTE COMMUNITIES
THE NATIONAL Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict awarded its Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster a certificate of recognition for empowering remote communities in the country.
Through the convergence efforts of the 30 member agencies and private partners, PRLEC has institutionalized the livelihood projects and barangay development programs of the NTF-ELCAC.
During the celebration of NTF-ELCAC’s second anniversary on Friday, December 4, 2020, PRLEC Chairman and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Director General Isidro Lapeña visited Davao City to inspect the PRLEC projects in the region.
Lapeña vowed to continue PRLEC’s commitment to empower remote communities.
“Only through our sincerest actions and concrete government programs can we win the hearts and minds of the Filipino People,” he said.
The TESDA said that the PRLEC will adapt new strategies to ensure better services for communities.
As of November 19, 2020, 143 villages have benefited from the barangay development programs implemented by PRLEC.
It implementes hundreds of skills training, livelihood projects, and provided financial support in conflict-affected villages and isolated areas.
It helped establish organic farms, production sites and trading centers for agricultural products, community poultry, vegetable production and processing centers, and water projects.
