PNP TRAINS PERSONNEL ON INFORMATION AND TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT
THE PHILIPPINE National Police aims to develop the expertise of its personnel by opening a new class for the Information and Communication Technology Management Course.
“The PNP will continue to conduct trainings and seminars because learning is a continuous process leading to digital transformation through the attainment of DICTM’s mission and vision, which are anchored in the program thrust of the CPNP,” Police Major Valeriano De Leon said.
“The need for modern information and communications technological advancement has prompted the PNP to pursue an ICT reengineering strategy that would necessitate the integration of information and communications technology,” De Leon explained.
These measures will equip PNP personnel with the knowledge and understanding of ICT policies, the planning system and data integration and research on interoperability, ICT standardization as well as acquisition, use and development of information systems, networks, electronic and communications technology resources, he said.
De Leon cited the need for the PNP to catch up and be one step ahead of criminals, particularly those using the World Wide Web as their playground.
The police organization has also long pushed for paperless communication and fast and easy data sharing and retrieval for operation and investigation matters.
“Technological advancements and innovations are exploding exponentially, bringing opportunities for not only enhanced productivity, but also new categories of products and services,” De Leon said.
