PLM TO CONTINUE ON-SITE SAP DISTRIBUTION

/ 12 October 2020

THE Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila will continue the on-site distribution of cash aid to students who are qualified for the city’s amelioration program.

The PLM said students over 21 years old may claim their cash grant on their scheduled dates at the school grounds ‪from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.‬

Students under 21 need to be accompanied by their parents or guardians to claim the cash assistance.

An alliance of student organizations within the PLM earlier denounced the “the old-school style” of cash distribution, citing the risks of going out amid the Covid19 pandemic.

The Bukluran Student Alliance said the city opted to physically hand out the cash grant because of problems encountered on Gcash.

The alliance urged the city government of Manila to find other ways to hand out the cash aid for students to eliminate the risks of contracting the coronavirus.

The PLM said that it will observe the strict implementation of minimum health standards to mitigate the risks of contracting the virus inside the school.

It added that claimants must wear face masks and face shields and should bring their own pens.

“Those who were notified by email of the payout last October 7 to 9, 2020 but were not able to come may do so any day between ‪October 13-16, 2020‬,” the school said on Facebook.
