PINOY GRADUATE FROM WITH PERFECT GWA
Vice President Leni Robredo lauded a Filipino student who graduated with a perfect 5.0 General Point Average from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States.
Farrel Wu, 20, got a degree in Computer Science and Business Analytics, with a minor in Economics.
Robredo said that Wu, who graduated on June 4, is her daughter’s friend.
“I know Farrel Wu personally. He was Jillian’s friend since they were in Grade School. They trained for International Math Competitions and competed together. It was Farrel who would always bag the GOLD for the Philippines. He brought a lot of honor for the country from Grade School and High School,” Robredo said on Facebook.
“When I was in Congress, he visited me in the office to donate the money he earned from his tutoring work to the Jesse M. Robredo Foundation because, at that time, we were building schools in remote areas,” she added.
Wu represented the Philippines in many international math contests. He won the gold medal in the International Mathematical Olympiad in 2016.
