PBBM VOWS TO STRENGTHEN QUALITY OF PHILIPPINE EDUCATION

/ 30 January 2026

PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Thursday reaffirmed his commitment to improving the quality of education in the Philippines, highlighting several initiatives under his administration aimed at education reform.

Marcos emphasized the government’s close collaboration with the Education Commission II (EDCOM II) to ensure that national reforms align with expert recommendations.

“With these initiatives, we will continue building on the progress we have made and strengthen our efforts so that all Filipino learners receive the quality education they deserve and rightly expect,” the President said.

During the event, Marcos formally launched the National Education and Workforce Development Plan 2026–2035, presented by EDCOM II as a roadmap for the country’s education reforms.

“Over the past years, we have focused on addressing learning gaps, repairing the damage caused by the pandemic to our children’s education, and mitigating the continuing costs of climate change,” Marcos added.

The President also highlighted the recent revision of the basic education curriculum, now designed to be learner-centered, skill-focused, and less congested to better prepare students for the challenges of the future.
