PBBM ORDERS THOROUGH PROBE INTO TACLOBAN SCHOOL SHOOTING
PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered a thorough investigation into the shooting incident at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City that left three people dead.
“A comprehensive investigation has been ordered, and measures are being taken to ensure the protection and safety of everyone in all places, offices, and establishments, especially schools,” Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said.
“The President is saddened by the incident. Anyone, especially the parents of the victims, would feel grief and fear in the wake of such a tragedy,” she added.
According to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Region 8, three people were confirmed dead and five others were injured in the shooting at the school.
Meanwhile, the Department of Education (DepEd) said it is coordinating with relevant government agencies to provide immediate medical and psychosocial support to those affected by the incident.
“To address the immediate emotional toll of this tragedy, the Department is working hand-in-hand with relevant government agencies to deploy critical medical assistance and appropriate psychosocial interventions for the affected learners and personnel,” DepEd said.
