PBBM ORDERS AGENCIES TO ADDRESS SANITARY ISSUES IN SCHOOLS

/ 11 June 2025

PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has directed concerned government agencies to address issues related to water supply and sanitation in public schools.

The President emphasized the need for clean toilets with running water, expressing concern over the potential health risks faced by students.

During his visit to two schools in Bulacan for the launch of Brigada Eskwela 2025, Marcos was dismayed by the poor condition of the school toilets and the lack of access to clean, running water.

“For me, basic ’yan eh. Kasi pati ’yung health nung bata natatamaan. Magkakasakit ’yan kung hindi malinis ang mga pinupuntahan nilang mga bathroom,” Marcos said.

“Kaya kawawa naman,” he added.

He warned of the health hazards posed by unsanitary facilities and their negative impact on students’ well-being and academic performance.

“So that’s one of the areas we are really going to focus on—just the health and safety of the kids. Of course, that’s the most basic and important thing that we have to do,” the President said.
