PBBM INSPECTS QC SCHOOL DAMAGED BY FIRE

/ 10 January 2026

PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. inspected on Friday the ongoing reconstruction of San Francisco High School in Bago Bantay, Quezon City, which was damaged by fire on June 15, 2025.

The President also oversaw the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program Para Malayo sa Sakit at Kalinga medical caravan, organized by the Department of Education and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, being held on campus.

Marcos first visited the school on June 18 last year, just three days after a fire had raged in the two-storey, 10-classroom DAO building that had been in use for over 45 years. During that visit, he ordered the construction of a new four-storey building with 36 classrooms, significantly upgrading the destroyed facility.

The new school building, being constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways, is expected to be completed by the start of the next school year. Marcos also said he requested SM Group to build an additional 24 classrooms for the school.

“We look forward to the completion of this by the beginning of the next school year,” the President said.

DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon, and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte joined the President during the visit.NB,
