PALACE SUSPENDS WORK, CLASSES IN NCR AND 14 PROVINCES AMID HEAVY RAINS
MALACAÑANG has suspended classes in all levels and work in government offices in Metro Manila and 14 provinces on Tuesday (26 Aug 2025) due to continuous rains from a low-pressure area (LPA).
The order covers NCR, Aurora, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, Masbate, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Leyte, and Southern Leyte, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) announced.
The public was urged to remain alert for flooding and landslides and to follow official advisories.
PAGASA reported that the LPA, located 290 km northeast of Maasin City, Southern Leyte as of 3 p.m., is unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone but will continue to bring heavy rains over affected areas.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government echoed the announcement online, with Secretary Jonvic Remulla reminding the public to stay safe.
