IPINANUKALA ni Cagayan de Oro Rep. Rufus Rodriguez ang pagtatayo ng city public college sa kanilang lungsod.

Sa kanyang House Bill 428, nais ni Rodriguez na magkaroon sila ng city public college kung saan papasok ang mga high school graduate.

“The College will enable the youth to finish their studies and afford them the opportunity of improving their status in life,” pahayag ni Rodriguez sa kanyang explanatory note.

Alinsunod sa panukala, ang Cagayan de Oro City Public College ay para sa mahihirap subalit deserving students mula sa mga barangay ng lungsod.

Ang lugar na pagtatayuan ng kolehiyo ay ido-donate ng city government at idedeklarang pag-aari ng educational institution.

Sa panukala, maglalaan ng inisyal na P100 milyon na pondo para sa operasyon ng city college.

“For most of Filipino parents, education is a very important legacy that they can leave their children and serves as the fulfillment of their moral obligation as parents. This drives Filipino parents to always aim to give the best education to their children,” diin pa ni Rodriguez.
