TINAWAG ni ACT Teachers Partylist Rep. France Castro na dagdag pahirap sa mga guro, magulang at estudyante ang isang buwang extension ng school year.

Sa Department Order 12, pinalawig ng Department of Education ang School Year 2020-2021 hanggang July 10, 2021 mula sa dapat na pagtatapos na June 11.

“If the DepEd genuinely wants to give learners academic ease, it would have provided adequate learning materials and prepared a curriculum that is appropriate for blended distance learning,” pahayag ni Castro.

“There is no ‘break’ in the hardships that the failed blended distance learning brought to learners, teachers and parents until the Department of Education and the Duterte administration addressed the perennial problems of education that were highlighted and were worsened by the Covid19 pandemic,” dagdag pa ng kongresista.

Iginiit ni Castro na dapat nang simulan ng DepEd na makinig sa mga stakeholders at hindi lamang agad magbababa ng mga polisiyang malayo sa pangangailangan at hindi angkop sa sitwasyon.

Muling iginiit ng mambabatas na dapat bumalangkas ang DepEd ng malinaw na plano para sa ligtas na face-to-face classes sa low-risk areas.
