PAGKAMATAY NG PMMA CADET ‘DI PA DAPAT ITURING NA CASE CLOSED — SOLON
KINONTRA ni Agusan del Norte Rep. Lawrence Fortun ang deklarasyon ng Philippine National Police na sarado na ang kaso ng pagkamatay ng isang kadete ng Philipine Merchant Marine Academy.
Sinabi ni Fortun na maghahain siya ng resolusyon upang isulong ang congressional inquiry sa pagkasawi ni Cadet Fourth Class Jonas Bondoc na natagpuang walang buhay sa comfort room ng akademya.
“Because of this unwelcome surprising development, I am constrained to file a Resolution calling for a congressional inquiry into this matter to ferret out the truth and introduce appropriate legislation to put an end to this culture of violence,” pahayag ni Fortun.
“Declaring this early the killing of PMMA Cadet 4CL Jonash Bondoc as case closed is highly irregular. Where is the investigation report… Let the public, those concerned, especially the family of the victim, see that report,” dagdag ng kongresista.
Sinabi ni Fortun na hanggang walang malalimang imbestigasyon sa insidente, hindi pa dapat ituring na sarado na ang kaso.
“If there is no such complete investigation report, then there is no point in declaring this case closed. That would certainly be premature and highly irregular. Dalawang araw lang, case closed na?” diin ng mambabatas.
Ipinaliwanag ni Fortun na kung ibabato sa naarestong suspek na si Cadet Third Class Jomel Gloria ang lahat ng pananagutan ay posibleng hindi na maparusahan ang mga maaaring kasabwat.
Kasama rin sa pinatutukoy ng mambabatas ang posibleng pananagutan ng mga opisyal ng akademya dahil sa kapabayaan kaya nangyari ang insidente.
“This premature and hastened declaration by the Provincial Director all the more reinforces the urgency of the intervention of the NBI in the conduct of an independent and impartial investigation on the matter,” dagdag ni Fortun.
