INAPRUBAHAN na ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) ang pagpapalabas ng pondo na nagkakahalaga ng mahigit P1 billion para sa restoration ng heritage school buildings sa buong bansa.

Sa isang statement, sinabi ng DBM na inaprubahan nito ang pagpapalabas ng P1.134-billion Special Allotment Release Order para sa funding needs ng Department of Education para sa conservation at restoration ng Gabaldon School Buildings at iba pang Heritage School Buildings.

Ang Gabaldons ay heritage school buildings na itinayo noong colonial period ng United States.

Sa kasalukuyan ay may 2,045 Gabaldon Schoolhouses sa buong Pilipinas.

“Let us restore and preserve the dignified spaces of our Gabaldon School Buildings and other heritage structures,” pahayag ni Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman.

“Whether nestled in bustling cities or remote provinces, these historic edifices hold the promise of progress. Together, we forge a path toward a renewed Philippines, leaving no one behind as espoused by President Bongbong Marcos’ vision of a Bagong Pilipinas,” dagdag pa niya.

Inaprubahan ni Pangandaman ang pagpapalabas sa SARO noong March 1, 2024, saklaw ang 654 klasrum sa 83 lugar sa buong bansa.
