FORMER Senator and independent senatorial candidate Bam Aquino highlighted that over 200,000 students in the National Capital Region are currently benefiting from the Free College Law, which provides free tuition in state universities and colleges (SUCs) and local universities and colleges (LUCs).

According to Aquino, more than 150,000 students are enrolled in SUCs, while over 65,000 are studying in LUCs across Metro Manila under the program.

“The City of Malabon University is one of the institutions receiving support. Tuition is free because of the Free College Law,” Aquino said during his visit to Malabon City, where he met with beneficiaries of the program.

He emphasized that the law has significantly lightened the financial burden on Filipino families.

“Because of this law, families no longer have to worry about college expenses. The money that would have gone to tuition can now be used for food, clothing, and other essentials,” he explained.

Aquino reaffirmed his commitment to expanding the Free College Law and ensuring secure employment for graduates.
