OPENING OF CLASSES PEACEFUL, SAYS DEPED

/ 18 June 2025

THE OPENING of classes for School Year 2025–2026 was peaceful, according to the Department of Education on Tuesday (27 June 2025).

Various national agencies coordinated with DepEd to ensure a smoother and safer back-to-school experience for millions of Filipino students.

DepEd also held an inter-agency meeting on Tuesday, led by Education Secretary Sonny Angara, to ensure all relevant agencies remain focused on supporting education-related concerns.

This year, under Secretary Angara, DepEd delivered laptops to teachers and non-teaching staff, smart TVs to classrooms, and textbooks to students ahead of the class opening.

The department also launched Brigada Eskwela and Oplan Balik Eskwela, mobilizing community support and partner agencies to prepare schools for the new academic year.
