PANANAGUTIN ng Department of Education ang mga estudyanteng sangkot sa umano’y online cheating.

Napaulat na may isang Facebook group kung saan nagpapasahan ng sagot sa kanilang modules ang mga estudyante.

“Cheating in schools is a lingering issue. I am not justifying this, but we assure the public we will not tolerate and we are seeking assistance from authorities on who to investigate,” sabi ni Briones sa isang press briefing.

Iniimbestigahan na ng National Bureau of Investigation ang mga page ukol sa online cheating.

“Cheating is a problem not only in schools, in society, but also in human nature,” ayon pa kay Briones.

“We are taught that honesty is the best policy and the best teachers of that honesty are the adults themselves,” dagdag pa niya.

Samantala, naniniwala si Rizal Rep. Fidel Nograles na patunay na hindi epektibo ang online learning sa mga mag-aaral ang natuklasang ‘online kopyahan’ sa social media, partikular sa Facebook.

Dismayado ang kongresista sa nabunyag na online kopyahan na katunayan din, aniya, na nalalagay sa alanganin ang education set-up sa bansa.

“We cannot deny that this is not right but we need to look beyond the surface of online cheating. This is but a symptom of a bigger problem. Since last year, we have heard of the effects of online learning on the mental health of our students. As such, we need to be more understanding and solve this issue without being too punitive,” pahayag ni Nograles.

Ipinaliwanag pa ng mambabatas na ang biglaang paglilipat mula sa silid-aralan patungong online at modular education ay sadyang pasakit sa mga estudyante.

Binigyang-diin ni Nograles na sa online survey ng Movement for Safe, Equitable, Quality and Relevant Education, lumabas na nasa 66 percent ng mga mag-aaral na nasa online learning ang nagsabing kakaunti ang kanilang natutunan kung ikukumpara sa  traditional face-to-face classes.

“As of now, we need to understand that the government is just trying to protect our youth, a large percentage of which are not yet vaccinated, from Covid19. A lot of us want to go back to traditional classroom learning in the soonest way possible but we need to make sure that it will be safe, not just for our students but also for our teachers,” dagdag ng mambabatas.
