NHCP HOLDS 3-DAY WORKSHOP FOR DEPED-NCR
THE NATIONAL Historical Commission of the Philippines has started its training workshop on Local History and Exhibit Development for the Department of Education-National Capital Region office.
The workshop tackled Methods of Research in History, Source Materials in Philippine Local History, Teaching Approaches in Local History, Teaching Local History through Museums, Introduction to Museology, Collections Management, Curatorial Development and Exhibition Design, Presentation of Exhibit Proposal and Public Programming and Local Community Engagement.
The NHCP said the program aims to prepare supervisors and head teachers for local history research and teaching methods, as well as to give them the skills and procedures to develop exhibits and manage collections.
The 3-day workshop started last February 7 and will continue on February 14 and 21. It was attended by Araling Panlipunan supervisors, head teachers and non-teaching staff.
The NHCP is the government agency tasked with promoting and protecting Philippine history and heritage through the management of national shrines, museums, research and writing, conservation, and preservation of historic sites and buildings.
