PRESIDENT  Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. administered the oath of office to newly appointed Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairperson Shirley C. Agrupis at the President’s Hall in Malacañang Palace on Wednesday (11 June 2025).

Before her appointment as CHED Chairperson, Agrupis served as CHED Commissioner, overseeing 22 universities and colleges across Northern Luzon, Central and Eastern Visayas, Mindanao, CARAGA, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

Prior to her role as Commissioner in 2024, she was the president of Mariano Marcos State University in Ilocos Norte.

Agrupis succeeded former CHED Chairperson Prospero de Vera III.
