NEDA SUPPORTS FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES

/ 19 December 2020

THE NATIONAL Economic and Development Authority backed the holding of face-to-face classes on a pilot basis, saying it shows proof that the country has done much in addressing the pandemic.

“Ito ay isang magandang development because it signals that we have done a lot already in our fight against Covid. Like any opening of the economy, tama naman let’s pilot it,” NEDA Acting Secretary Karl Chua said.

“Don’t open it for all. Start small. See what can be improved and gradually expand,” he added.

He stressed that face-to-face classes cannot be replaced because not all students can thrive in distance learning.

Chua said distance education also had a big impact on parents as they have to be more active in helping their children with their lessons thus affecting their work.

Chua said NEDA will continue to coordinate with health experts on the gradual opening of the economy.
