NCCA LAUNCHES HISTORY SOURCEBOOK FOR DISTANCE LEARNING
THE NATIONAL Commission for Culture and the Arts and National Committee on Historical Research partnered to launch sourcebooks to aid teachers.
NCHR head Dr. Emmanuel Calairo said the e-book titled “Philippine History Source Book” will help teachers educate students about the history and culture of the Philippines.
Calairo said that the 651-page book will set the standard on what historical readings should be given priority.
The NCCA said that the learning material is composed of various readings on the pre-Spanish period; Spanish period: 16th-18th century; 19th century; Philippine Revolution; Philippine-American War; American period; Commonwealth; Japanese occupation; Postwar period: 1946-1972; 1972-1986; and 1986-present.
The history departments of the Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, Silliman University, and the University of the Philippines-Diliman collaborated on the project.
