‘MYSTERY RIDERS’ TO PROTECT STUDENT COMMUTERS
THE INTER-AGENCY Council for Traffic will deploy ‘mystery riders’ to ensure the safety of commuting students as face-to-face classes resume.
Charlie del Rosario, I-ACT chief, said that the council was getting ready for in-person classes in August.
“We will be there to help and ensure that health protocols will be followed when they ride buses, especially now that there’s an increase in Covid-19 cases,” Del Rosario said.
“They can assist our students. As far as I know, the LTO has an ongoing information campaign on how our students should cross the roads,” Del Rosario said, referring to the Land Transportation Office.
Education Secretary Leonor Briones pushed for the holding of full face-to-face classes beginning August, a move that her successor, Sara Duterte Carpio, supported.
The latter is set to meet Education officials for a smooth transition of leadership.
