MANILA ROLLS OUT VACCINATION FOR TEACHERS
THE CITY government of Manila on Tuesday started vaccinating public school teachers.
Manila Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso said on Facebook that teachers, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities will be vaccinated starting Tuesday.
“Tuloy-tuloy po ang ating Covid19 mass vaccination ngayong araw. Prayoridad po nating mabakunahan ang mga public school teacher sa lungsod na kabilang sa A2 (senior citizens) at A3 (persons with comorbidities) groups,” the mayor said.
Domagoso asked other Manileños to pre-register for the vaccination program at www.manilacovid19vaccine.ph.
Earlier, the Alliance of Concerned Teachers urged the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases to include teachers in the vaccine priority list of the government.
It said that teachers are at high risk of contracting the virus because they report to schools and visit communities as part of their duties.
