MANILA LGU RELEASES ₱52.5-M CASH AID FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS UNDER CITY ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS
THOUSANDS of college students in Manila are set to receive financial assistance after Mayor Francisco Moreno Domagoso announced the release of cash aid.
Under the city’s College Student Assistance Program, the Manila local government will distribute ₱46.03 million to 18,235 students enrolled at the Universidad de Manila and Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila. This amount covers student allowances for July to September 2025, providing much-needed support amid rising education-related expenses.
In addition, ₱6.5 million will be released through the College Subsidy Program for students of the Eulogio “Aman” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology, covering the third quarter of 2025 and further expanding the city’s education assistance initiatives.
Mayor Moreno emphasized that the student aid is part of a broader ₱648.84 million package of cash assistance, benefits, and incentives being rolled out by the city government for students, city employees, health workers, and contract personnel.
“Paldo ang mga Batang Maynila,” the mayor said, underscoring the city’s commitment to investing in education and human development.
He also expressed gratitude to Manila’s taxpayers and business sector, noting that their continued support enables the local government to sustain programs that benefit students and other sectors of society. He called on the public to recognize the role of taxpayers in funding public services and assistance programs, explaining that the steady flow of benefits—from salaries to student aid—is made possible by the city’s revenue contributors.
