MANILA LGU CONDUCTS CLEANUP DRIVE IN MANILA SCHOOL AMID DENGUE CASES

THE MANILA City Government has acted on the concerns of parents and teachers at Pio Del Pilar Elementary School in District 6 following reports of rising dengue cases within the campus.

According to a school official who relayed the matter to the Manila Public Information Office, two students have died from dengue while another remains confined in the hospital.

Teachers have also begun contracting the illness, prompting urgent appeals for immediate intervention.

Mayor Isko Moreno ordered the Department of Public Services to conduct a thorough cleanup of the school’s surroundings.

The Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office was likewise directed to carry out flushing operations, while the Sanidad–Manila Health Department deployed misting operations after classes ended at 6:00 p.m.

The local government assured parents and school personnel that it is closely monitoring the situation to prevent the further spread of dengue.
