MALACAÑANG URGES YOUTH TO JOIN GOV’T INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

/ 22 May 2025

MALACAÑANG is encouraging the youth to apply for the Government Internship Program (GIP), which offers students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in the public sector.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the program is a good chance for students to explore government service.

“May pagkakataon po kayong sumali sa Government Internship Program (GIP) ng Department of Social Welfare and Development,” Castro said.

The GIP is open to college students aged 18 to 25, preferably incoming 3rd- and 4th-year students in the coming school year.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will hire more than 1,200 interns to be assigned to its central and field offices. The program aims to provide both financial assistance and hands-on experience in government work.

A total of 1,235 internship slots are available—75 for each of the 16 Field Offices and 35 for the Central Office located along Batasan Road in Quezon City.

Since 2017, nearly 8,000 college students have already benefited from the program.
