LGUs OUTSIDE METRO MANILA BEGIN PEDIATRIC JABS
LOCAL government units outside Metro Manila started vaccinating on Friday minors with comorbidities aged 12 to 17.
In San Fernando, Pampanga, more than 70 received their first dose at the Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital.
Dr. Monserrat Chichioco said no adverse effects such as allergies or high blood pressure were reported.
On the other hand, Cebu City Health Department officer-in-charge Dr. Jeffrey Ibones said at least 100 minors received Covid19 jabs at the Behavioral Sciences Center of the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
Ibones said the city government plans to vaccinate minors in facilities near hospitals.
The Southwestern University PHINMA building, University of Cebu J. Alcantara building, and the Ayala Center Cebu are being considered as jab sites.
In General Santos City, the pediatric inoculation opened at the Dr. Jorge P. Royeca Hospital. Ninety-nine adolescents signed up for their jabs.
The city’s vaccination supervisor Ebuen Herceda said the number is expected to increase in the coming days.
“We will schedule the vaccination later on for those without comorbidities,” she said.
The Department of Health in Soccsksargen identified five hospitals as pilot vaccination sites for the pediatric A3 group.
These are the DJPRH, South Cotabato Provincial Hospital in Koronadal City, Sultan Kudarat Provincial Hospital in Isulan town, Cotabato Provincial Hospital in Kidapawan City, and the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center in Cotabato City.
The DoH in Eastern Visayas aims to vaccinate 432,000 minors aged 12 to 17.
“If you are part of this age group, we encourage you to think about getting your vaccine by registering. Parents should learn for updates from the local government,” Kristen Mae Yu, Covid19 vaccination spokesperson in the region, said.
