LGUs CONTINUE TO GIVE JABS TO MINORS

SEVERAL local government units in the National Capital Region continue to ramp up efforts to vaccinate children against Covid19.

Muntinlupa City said 17,773 minors aged 12 to 17 have received their first dose of Covid19 vaccine as of November 21. It added that 547 minors got their second dose.

This is 32 percent of the city’s estimated 55,391 minors belonging to the 12 to 17 age group.

In total, the city government has administered 18,320 vaccine jabs to minors since October 25.

Taguig City, on the other hand, has inoculated 22,112 children as of Nov. 18. Of these, 22,112 got their first dose while 1,486 have received their second dose.

Adolescents with comorbidities were vaccinated at the Medical Center in Taguig and St. Luke’s Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City.

Those without comorbidities got their jabs at the Lakeshore Mega Vaccination Hub, Bonifacio High Street Mega Vaccination Hub, RP Cruz Elementary School, and Western Bicutan National High School.

Meanwhile, Manila City vaccinated more than 78,000 adolescents aged 12 to 17.

The city’s Health Department said that 78,224 minors have received their first dose.

The hospitals selected to lead the vaccination are Sta. Ana Hospital, Ospital ng Maynila, Gat Andres Bonifacio, Justice Jose Abad Santos, Ospital ng Sampaloc, and Ospital ng Tondo.

The city also tapped the Lucky Chinatown Mall, SM Manila, SM San Lazaro, and Robinsons Place Manila as vaccination sites.
